January Work Party

The January Work Party will be meeting at 08:00 at the Cramond Brig, there are a few jobs needing our attention and a plan is being forumlated.  This is a great opportunity to get involved and meet other members, hopefully see you there.

Work Parties are always planned for the third Sunday of the month, normally finishing around midday, during 2012 the plan is to run some adhoc Work Parties during the summer evenings, but we’ll keep you updated on this page. If you can’t make this one get the next one in your diary.

Ranger Service – Laural Removal

David Kyles has asked if any of the members would be able to help out on Sunday morning removing the Laural’s between the Green Railings and the Dingy Park (downstream of the School Brae Car Park), meeting at 09:30.

June Work Party

The June Work Party will focus on the area directly upstream of Boathhouse Bridge, the plan is to enhance the path and improve the fishing.  We will be meeting up at Boathouse Bridge at 08:00, anything for chopping and clearing a path.  As usual we plan to have a small BBQ following the event and the club’s cooks will be on hand to rustle up a treat.  This is a great opportunity to get involved and meet other members, hopefully see you there.

Junior Outing – Selmmuir (Bill Thompson Trophy)

Following on from our 2010 Junior Fun Day, we have arranged our junior day out at Selmmuir Trout Fishery. This will be funded by the club, so all junior members can fish for free. Last years event was fantastic, a great turn out with 12 Junior members enjoying and benefiting from an hours tuition from Paul Buchanan, followed by 4 hours of fishing, the BBQ was up and running for most of the event, with the Juniors and Adults constantly paying it a visit.

River Almond Competition (Hinshelwood Trophy)

Following on from 2009 & 2010 we are holding a “catch and release” competition on the River Almond, fishing Beats 2 & 3. Meeting at 08:30 at the Cramond Brig, fishing will commence at 09:00 – 16:00, please bring a digital camera or camera phone.
