The River is running at Summer Level, water clarity is excellent.
The River was perfect at the start of the week, with a 6″ rise and lots of fish visible at the waterfall at Cramond. These fish must have made a dash for it with no migratories reported within the catch returns! Maybe next time. With the River back to Summer Level it would be worth fishing for the Brownies, as usual the riffles should prove the best area for catching fish, with the usual flies being the best to tempt them. Millar and I were down removing a couple of bikes from the River and watched a couple of Sea Trout leaping around the Cramond Brig last night, so again this may prove a useful spot after the light fades. The Work Party planned for this Sunday has been delayed a week, as we have quite a few regulars unable to attend, so the next Work Party is now the 22nd Aug, meeting at the Rialway Bridge for 08:00.
