Cramond Angling Club

Cramond, Edinburgh, Scotland

Welcome to the official Cramond Angling Club (C.A.C) website (as featured in Trout & Salmon Feb 2011). Here you can get all the information regarding angling on The River Almond around Cramond.

Our Aim

We aim to promote fishing on the River Almond, at a very affordable price. It is also the club’s interest to maintain the river’s general health and being. The club also runs some riverbank maintenance to keep it clean and accessible in conjunction with the Edinburgh Countryside Ranger Service and Dalmeny Estate.

What Do We Offer

More than 6.5 miles of (mostly) double bank fishing for Season Ticket and Day Tickets on the River Almond between Kirkliston and Cramond. There is good access to most parts of the river. For those who travel with public transport, getting to the river is not difficult at all, as bus routes are just minutes away.  If you are looking for fishing within West Lothian on the River Almond, then contact our friends at West Lothian Angling Association.

Main species are Brown Trout and Sea Trout. Salmon have also been caught although in a very small number.  Following the 2011 AGM and recommendations from the Forth District Salmon Fishery Board the River Almond is now “Catch and Release” for all species, with the new rule coming into effect on the 1st February 2012. (Please refer to the club rules regarding our catch and release rules.)

During Season 2011 Cramond Angling Club reported 49 Salmon and Grilse, 231 Sea Trout and Finnock and 740 Brown Trout, please refer to the Catch Return section for more information.
